Rice Crispy Treats
Why in the world would I post this recipe? It’s literally on the cereal box or bag of marshmallows. Well, my method is different and I almost always jazz them up by using molds to shape them instead of the traditional squares. I have an aluminum 6 cavity mini heart pan from Wilton that I use the most. I also recommend sticking to the name brands on this.
Ingredients:
12 oz. Kellogg’s Rice Krispies
2-3 tbsp unsalted butter
10 oz. Kraft mini marshmallows
Instructions:
- Spray a large microwave safe bowl with canola oil. Put 2-3 tbsps of butter and the bag of marshmallows in it. Also, spray any molds or a 13″x9″ pan.
- Microwave for about 1 minute – keep an eye on it and take it out before it explodes. Grease a rubber spatula and stir. You might need to microwave it for a few more seconds until it is smooth.
- Once it’s smooth, pour in the cereal and quickly stir it together. If you are using molds, have a silicone mat or parchment paper laid out ahead of time on the kitchen counter. You will need to spoon the mixture into the mold and flatten it down, then pop it onto the counter and repeat until done, otherwise, simply spread the entire “batter” into the 13″x9″ pan.
- After it is set you can have some fun by drizzling chocolate or white chocolate and/or adding sprinkles.
