Lantern Festival

The Lantern Festival marks the end of Lunar New Year festivities for the Year of the Rat. This amazing cultural event is hosted annually by Pacific Symphony and South Coast Chinese Cultural Center/Irvine Chinese School. Admission is free (but tickets required). $5 craft passes are available to purchase with cash or credit. Enjoy lantern making, music, performances, dragon and lion dances, food and more. It’s a come rain or shine event. Outdoor performances are moved indoor if needed. Each floor has different crafts and activities. The concert hall has various performances representing various countries. A small variety of food and drinks are offered inside the building. There are food trucks outside and an outdoor cafe. The plaza is a wondeful area with lots of benches, minimal amount of table and chairs but plenty of space for children to run around. The Free Library was a huge hit with the kids so be sure to check it out and leave a book there next time. There is a bathroom located outside as well. Event hours: 11:00 am – 5:00 pm. Parking available at Plaza Tower for $12 cash.
