Disney at Home

It’s Memorial Day weekend – the unofficial start of summer! We usually squeeze in one last visit to Disneyland before the crazy crowds and summer heat. With the park still closed, I decided to re-create our themepark experience at home! It was actually really fun and easy! Thanks to YouTube, the girls would watch something and go to a “kiosk” to order their favorite treats. Check out our list below for our top videos and of course I had to add Disney karaoke!!

Virtual Disney Experiences

  1. Incredicoaster – California Screamin’ at California Adventure was replaced by Incredicoaster in 2018. The girls aren’t big enough for this ride so it was their first pick to experience virtually. They also loved counting the Jack Jacks.
  2. Big Thunder Mountain – We have never been on this ride at Disneyland because again, my girls are still pretty young, so they really enjoyed pretending they were on the ride.
  3. Magic Happens Parade – This new daytime parade at Disneyland premiered at the end of February, just weeks before the parks closed. I was happy Disney posted it to their channel so we can all enjoy it!
  4. Fireworks – Of course we had to end our day with a fireworks show. This one is from Disney World’s Cinderella Castle and is breathtaking!
  5. Disney Sing-a-Long – It’s no secret that I love to do karaoke so it was really convenient that Disney has a Vevo channel with a lot of popular songs with lyrics.

These are just some of our top picks but there are plenty of good virtual rides, firework shows, and other fun Disney related clips on the Disney Parks YouTube channel.

Disney Themed Treats

Jack Jack Cookie Num Num – I used my usual chocolate chip cookie recipe except separated the batter into a 6 cavity cake pan. Bake at 350 for about 20 min. I will link that recipe later!
Corn Dog “Nuggets” – I made these using Trader Joe’s Cornbread Mix and chopped hot dogs in a Cake Pop machine. Just cook for 5 minutes!
Soft Pretzel – I used the frozen ones from Trader Joe’s. I brushed them with butter before sprinkling the coarse salt. Ready in 4 minutes!
Oven Baked “Fried” Pickles – Click for recipe!
Dole Whip – click for recipe!
